DON'T USE CHATGPT
Next lesson: Mod Usage
Note: This also extends to any AI platform, not just ChatGPT.
Some newcomers think they can ask ChatGPT to make entire mods for them. This is ultimately a terrible practice.
ChatGPT makes mistakes fairly often. In the RimWorld Modding scene, it's nearly useless. ChatGPT's knowledge goes back to older versions of the game, and even if that wasn't the case ChatGPT can give inaccurate information. Newbies won't be able to tell if what ChatGPT tells them is right or wrong.
ChatGPT can be useful for ideas and language, not much else. Here's a list of "okay" things to ask ChatGPT:
- Ideas on possible mods you could try making.
- Lore of one of your races or xenotypes.
- Description of items.
- Possible names for your mods or items.
- Correct your spelling or grammar errors.
- Other websites can already do this as well.
